Chapter 14: Battle! Dark elf Priestess
"Sword Blast!"
Aelusdro sent a shockwave from his sword, aiming it at Bridget
and Celina. However, it was unable to reach them due to overwhelming darkness
blocking its path.
"Take my bullets!"
"Well, lead bullets won't..."
"Oh, that's your misunderstanding, isn’t it?"
The bullets fired by Marianne, upon impact, explode and
create explosive rounds called Fire Bullets. When the bullets exploded, Bridget
sustained significant wounds.
"Gah!"
Bridget spit blood from her mouth and was blown away about 4
meters.
"We have no intention of surrendering the Nagal region
to you."
Marianne twirls her twin pistols and taunts Bridget.
Enraged by the provocation, Bridget approached Marianne and
tried to stab her with a rapier, but Marianne gracefully dodged the attack.
"Large feu vent soins mort!"
With the power of Aranea, Celina summoned a pillar of flame
imbued with the power of evil faith, aiming it at Aelusdro and Marianne.
Although Bridget is also present in the vicinity, the
self-centered Dark elf failed to consider her safety.
"This is bad! If it hits, it will be a fatal blow! La
Nature De Vente La Scat!"
Aelusdro also chanted a spell to increase their speed,
allowing them to dodge the attack. As a result, Bridget alone ended up getting
hit, creating a situation that can be considered a miraculous turn of events.
"Hey! What are you doing?!"
"It's your fault for being slow."
While Bridget and Celina argue with each other, Aelusdro
delivered a powerful blow, filled with a commanding presence, directly at Bridget.
Aelusdro's sword pierced Bridget, inflicting a significant
wound.
"Guahhhh?!"
Bridget managed to regain her footing and readjust her grip
on her rapier, attempting to impale Aelusdro. However, Marianne shielded him,
preventing him from taking any damage.
"Marianne, I suppose you wouldn't want your clothes to
get torn?"
"Well, at this point, I don't care about that. Our
priority is to defeat these people!"
"Now, let's see what happens. Instabilite!"
As Celina chanted her spell, the space warped and became
unstable. It became a chaotic situation where luck and misfortune are even more
likely to occur.
"Hmph, such things are nothing more than scraps of
paper before me! Magnum Shot!"
Marianne fired her twin pistols at Bridget, but the guns
misfired and nearly hit Aelusdro.
"Damn it!"
"Hmph!"
Aelusdro used his shield to deflect Marianne's bullets and
they hit Bridget instead.
"You... You scoundrels!"
"We must seize this opportunity. Let's go, Icicle
Slash!"
Aelusdro imbued his sword with ice using magic and swung it
at Celina, unleashing a shockwave. Due to the effect of Celina's spell, the
shockwave spread, and before she could dodge, it pierced through her.
"Tch... Seems luck is on your side."
"I'm sorry, but we can't yield to you. This is a battle
to protect our place."
"So, we're treated as invaders... In that case,
die!"
Bridget swung her poison-infused rapier with a commanding
presence.
"Do Geit De Terra Ma Gi!"
Aelusdro released a magical arrow aimed at Bridget's arm. If
it hits, her attack will be interrupted. Taking advantage of the opening, Aelusdro
charged at Bridget and striked her.
Bridget was hit, but remained standing.
"If we sacrifice you, we will receive the favor of Aranea!"
For the Dark Elves, who belong to the forces of evil, Aelusdro,
who possesses the attribute of good, is a stain. Therefore, they are determined
to make Aelusdro a sacrifice to the evil deity Aranea at any cost.
However, Marianne scoffs at them.
"Hmph, what kind of deity is that?"
"You dare show disrespect to Aranea as a mere
human!"
"I don't believe in deities. I believe in myself and
these pistols alone! Death Seventeen!"
Marianne took a step back, increasing the distance between
her and Celina, and unleashed a barrage of gunfire aimed at her.
Although they were quite far apart, the effect of Death
Seventeen extended its range, allowing the shots to hit their target.
"Ku..."
"I've had enough. I want to give you your final
farewell..."
Aelusdro and Marianne have exhausted both their physical and
mental strength, likely from unleashing numerous techniques. If they don't end
it here, there will be no turning back.
"...You must die."
Marianne loaded a holy bullet into her pistol and shot at Bridget's
heart. The bullet pierced through Bridget's chest, enveloping her in divine
light.
For the Dark Elves who are vulnerable to light, that single
strike became a fatal blow.
"Damn it... Why was I defeated by the likes of
you...?!"
Leaving those words behind, Bridget lost her strength and
collapsed on the spot.
"...I told you, didn't I? You must die.
Fufufufufu..."
Marianne laughed heartily while saying so. However, her
laughter didn't indicate good spirits. Aelusdro quietly observed Marianne,
trembling with anger.
"Celina, it's your turn now. Do you understand?"
With those words, Marianne pointed her twin pistols at Celina.
"Well then, I shall do my best to meet your
expectations! Large brulure impie!"
Celina chanted a spell that summoned dark clouds to the
location where Aelusdro and Marianne stood. Aelusdro managed to be in a
position where the attack missed, but unfortunately, Marianne was hit.
"Ma-gi-de-ska-to!"
"Kuuu..."
Marianne managed to mitigate most of the damage through her
strong mental fortitude and Aelusdro's defensive magic. However, the curse
mixed with the Dark elf's sorcery, causing her head to spin. Celina cast
another spell to deliver the finishing blow to Marianne.
"Not on my watch!"
However, Aelusdro blocked the attack with his shield and
swiftly approached Celina, sword at the ready.
"I can no longer stay with you all. That's why, as a
warrior, I will defeat you!"
"Do-igni-la-oshi-do-oshi!"
"Guaaaaaaaaaaaah!"
Flames engulfed Aelusdro's sword as he swung it, engulfing Celina
in fire. Celina let out a final scream as she burned in the inferno. And then,
without a trace, she vanished, turning into ashes.
"We... won... right..."
"Well, Dark Elves certainly can be quite a nuisance."
Aelusdro and Marianne muttered as the miasma that shrouded
the forest gradually dissipated. Afterwards, the forest began to return to its
original state.
