Chapter 25: Information Gathering

In a room of the Galba Empire's hotel, a man was bound to a chair.

Rudolf made the man sit in the chair and tied his hands with a rope to bring him back to consciousness.

"What do you intend to do to me?"

"I want to know what you're up to."

Ellie approached the man and stared at him intently.

The man stared back at Ellie.

For a while, a moment of silence passed.

"..."

After 10 minutes, the man suddenly spoke up.

"Ah... There's no way I can't say something to such a weak fairy."

"???"

Ellie was taken aback by being called a weak fairy.

Physically, it was true, but mentally, it was a different story.

"I'll tell you all the information, just don't take my life."

"Understood. If you tell us everything, we will set you free."

Marianne smiled slyly.

In exchange for his safety, Mayven revealed everything he knew to Aelusdro.

- The man's name is Mayven, the son of the high priest.

- Emma is the one who proposed that plan.

- The black-haired man's name is Hivell, the son of a wealthy merchant.

- The blond-haired man's name is Kermit, the son of a grand wizard.

- All three of them are plotting events that could destabilize the nation by leveraging their parents' power.

"I've got the gist of it. I should report this to Tiffany," Aelusdro said.

"If you understand, then release me already."

"Very well. You can go back now."

After releasing Mayven, Marianne called for their client, Tiffany.

A red-haired woman with a ponytail, Tiffany, the client of Aelusdro's group, appeared.

"Ah, hello."

"Would you like some tea? You there! Bring some tea!" Marianne called a nearby employee and instructed them to serve tea to Tiffany.

After the employee served tea to Tiffany, she opened her mouth.

"Has any new information come in?"

"It seems that the sons of the high priest, a wealthy merchant, and a grand wizard are plotting something together with Emma," Marianne replied.

"Indeed, those three are the ones behind it all," Tiffany said, her expression filled with suspicion.

Those three are nothing but incompetent nobles who flaunt their power.

Tiffany couldn't help but wonder why they were plotting such a major event. It didn't make sense to her.

"...Something is definitely off. There must be some hidden agenda."

"In that case, we have no choice but to ask them directly," Aelusdro replied.

However, if those three are truly incompetent, they might be a decoy. Moreover, Emma is currently more popular than Marianne. Without solid evidence, they can't apprehend Emma.

"But more importantly, what is that blue gem?"

"I want to investigate it myself, so bring it to me."

"Alright, let's start by finding Kermit. I believe he went to the house with the large green roof. Everyone, let's go for an assault!"

"Yes!"

With that, Marianne and her group headed towards the house with the large green roof.

In the house with the large green roof of the Galba Empire, Aelusdro's group sneaked in silently.

Aelusdro approached the house stealthily and peeked through the door.

Inside, Kermit was kneeling before Emma, a girl with black hair styled in three braids.

"Emma-sama, it seems we are being followed."

"Oh, is that so? Monkey child, could you go check the situation for me?"

"Kiki!"

The monkey child detached from Emma and quickly ran towards the door, jumping around. Then, with skillful hands, it opened the door, revealing Aelusdro's group.

"Oh no...!"

"Did this monkey know we were tailing them!?"

"Tch, there's no point in hiding it now... Emma Craelsh! I challenge you to a duel!"

Marianne confidently pushed open the door and entered the house with the large green roof. Aelusdro's group followed her, and the monkey child returned to Emma's side.

"Marianne-sama, I have a request for you."

"What is it?"

"Please kill the Dark elf over there."

Emma pointed at Aelusdro.

"Kill him?!"

"If you're a citizen of the Galba Empire, shouldn't you be advocating for the extermination of non-human races? And yet, you've brought so many demi-humans with you..." Emma directed a hateful gaze towards Aelusdro, Rudolf, Ellie, Miro, Yumir, and Shuu.

Indeed, she wasn't just a "good person" as they had initially assumed.

"However, if I eliminate everyone else here, I can become the ultimate noble daughter of the Galba Empire. A flawless lady who is kind to everyone!"

"I won't let that happen!" Marianne declared as she fired a bullet towards Emma. Of course, it was a warning shot with no intention to harm.

"W-Why...?"

"The true essence of human supremacy is about 'excluding' non-human races, not 'killing' them! You're mistaken!"

"Mistaken?"

"Yes... Besides, I'm no longer a citizen of the Galba Empire. I am a citizen of the Nagal region!"

The Nagal region, a peaceful haven for demi-humans within the Galba Empire. Marianne detested the idea of Emma turning it into a region exclusively for humans.

"As the villainess, I will defeat you, the heroine!" Marianne firmly declared.

Upon hearing those words, Emma smirked and spoke with a cold voice.

"...What a pity. You shall be... eliminated. Mayven, please take care of it."

"F-For the sake of Lady Emma!"

Mayven snapped his fingers, and his elite soldiers surrounded Aelusdro's group.

"Well then, farewell."

"Wait!"

Marianne hurriedly chased after Emma, but the monkey child lifted Emma and vanished with a teleportation spell.

The remaining Mayven and his allies prepared themselves.

"Everyone, let's go!"

"Ah...!"

"We won't lose, no matter what!"
